The Aye, Ayes Have It
A new president took the helm of the student government at North Carolina State University last month, and a swashbuckling session is in store.
Whil Piavis, who calls himself the Pirate Captain, campaigned in a scraggly blond wig, a full beard, and an eye patch, with a small wooden parrot perched on his shoulder. New on the campus political scene, he brandished a skull-and-crossbones flag and defeated a student-government veteran by 16 percentage points in a runoff.
