Mary Dillon Johnson's piece on the new, no-library-degree-required career option that will enable Ph.D.'s to become academic librarians sheds some light on the ambiguity that traditional academic librarians feel about this trend ("Turning Ph.D.'s Into Librarians," Career Network, October 17).
