The promotion-and-tenure story reported by The Chronicle is not an accurate picture of the promotion process at Brooklyn College -- which Scott Smallwood neglects to present -- nor is it indicative of the academic quality and rigorous standards for which the college is well known ("Tenure Madness," May 23).
