The 10 Most Powerful People in College Sports

BusinessWeek's cover story last week highlighted the 100 most influential people in sports. Only two college officials made the list: Myles Brand, the NCAA's president (No. 16), and James E. Delany, the Big Ten commissioner (No. 31).

Mr. Brand and Mr. Delany certainly deserve the recognition. But big-time college sports is filled with powerful players, some of whom negotiate billion-dollar deals, entertain millions of fans, or help programs dig out of trouble when they violate NCAA
