Texas Medical Center Gets $50-Million Gift
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas has received a $50-million gift for its cancer center from a local billionaire and his wife, university officials announced this month.
Harold C. and Annette Simmons's pledge will be used to help the university recruit 30 cancer specialists and to further the institution's goal of becoming a Comprehensive Cancer Center, as designated by the National Cancer Institute.
