Texas High Court Upholds College Technology Fees
The Dallas County Community College District acted lawfully when it raised students' technology and activity fees nearly a decade ago, the Texas Supreme Court ruled in December, in a decision that overturned a large judgment against the district.
The ruling reversed an appeals-court award of $12-million to 150,000 students. The students filed a class-action lawsuit against the seven-college district in 1998, asserting that the fees were illegal under state law.
