BANKING ON A NEW LEADER: Robert D. McTeer Jr.'s announcement that he was leaving the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas to become the chancellor of the Texas A&M University System wasn't a normal swan song. "Well, what did you expect?" he says in a goodbye message on the Dallas Fed's Web site. "I had to make my move while I still I have my looks."
