Tenure's Main Function Now Is to Intimidate

In reporting the reduction in the number of part-timers at Georgia State University, Robin Wilson quoted Richard P. Chait of Harvard University, who unbagged a well-clawed cat by his remarks on tenure ("How a University Created 95 Faculty Slots and Scaled Back Its Use of Part-Timers," October 22).
