Citing economic uncertainty and the potential restructuring of the state’s higher-education system, the Tennessee Board of Regents has suspended its search for a new chancellor, the Associated Press reported today. The board’s search committee approved the action today and will recommend the indefinite suspension of the search to the full board in March. The chancellor, Charles Manning, who planned to retire in June, will be asked to remain in his current position. —David Shieh
