Technology's Impact on Writing
To the Editor:
No one should be surprised that computers are changing the ways we read and write, both positively and negatively ("Technology Transforms Writing and the Teaching of Writing," November 26). Literacy has always been a technology, and changes in the machinery of writing have always forced us to confront the advantages and disadvantages of the old and new ways of doing things with words.
