Technical Difficulties
Clemson University students competing in this year's National Student Steel Bridge Competition don't think they got a fair shake.
Their bridge didn't vibrate much at all when it was tested, and it would have beaten all its competitors by a comfortable margin, based on the technical measurements. But it was disqualified because judges said Clemson's bridge didn't follow the intent of the contest: While a full-scale version could have supported a car's weight, a vehicle could not have
