Tech Research Aids Emergency Response
A research group at the University of California-San Diego has deployed an experimental communication system to the New Orleans area to help keep emergency officials connected.
In coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and with Qualcomm and other communication companies, the researchers have converted RV's to mobile communication hubs that support cellphone and Internet service.
