Talks on Lenders' List End in Stalemate
Negotiations over the future of preferred-lender lists have ended in an impasse because a panel charged with crafting changes in the student-loan programs has failed to reach a consensus on that and three other issues on its agenda.
The rule-making panel had been developing a package of proposed regulatory revisions that would, among other things, place strict new limits on how colleges use preferred-lender lists.
