Talk of Bursting Bubble Is 'Arrant Pedantry'
To the Editor:
Commentaries like "Will Higher Education Be the Next Bubble to Burst?" (The Chronicle, May 22) send shivers down my spine.
First, note the chilling language for anyone who believes in a liberal-arts education. A sense among the populace that higher education is "under-delivering" suggests that we are factories and students are inert machines. Second, note the rhetoric endorsing
