TIAA-CREF Offers Electronic-Voting Option to Participants

In a move to save money, TIAA-CREF is offering its nearly two million participants the option of voting on new directors and shareholder proposals over the Internet.

Participants can still send their proxies for the November 10 annual meeting by U.S. mail if they prefer. But officials estimate that 175,000 people a month already use the investment funds' World-Wide Web site (http://www.tiaa.org/). The funds
