T.A.'s at U. of Washington Call Off Planned Strike
Teaching assistants at the University of Washington called off a strike that was scheduled to begin last week after the Graduate Student Employee Action Coalition reached an agreement with university officials.
The graduate-student coalition had threatened a strike because the university refused to recognize it as a union and bargain with it over wages, health benefits, and other working conditions. The agreement -- which starts the ball rolling on bargaining
