TA Strike Is Averted at California State U.
Thousands of graduate students who serve as teaching and research assistants on California State University's 23 campuses had planned to begin an open-ended strike in an effort to pressure the university system to bargain "in good faith" with their union. But just hours before it was to begin, on May 12, the union and the university reached an agreement, and the strike was called off.
