Sylvan Enters Central America
Sylvan Learning Systems announced last week that it had bought a university with campuses in Costa Rica and Panama, marking the company's first expansion into Central America.
Sylvan purchased the institution, Universidad Interamericana, for an undisclosed price. Founded in 1986, it enrolled about 5,900 students by 2002.
The institution, whose name translates as Interamerican University, generated revenue of about $7.6-million in 2002. It offers undergraduate and graduate
