Supreme Court Lets Professor's Sex-Bias Lawsuit Proceed
The U.S. Supreme Court revived a lawsuit against Lynchburg College last week by ruling that a federal appeals court had improperly thrown out gender-discrimination claims made by a former biology professor at the Virginia college. The decision helps clarify how a filing deadline for such claims can be met.
All nine justices sided with the professor, Leonard Edelman, reversing a decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and sending the case back to the appeals court.
