Supreme Court Lets Stand Ruling on Race-Based School-Transfer Policies
The U.S. Supreme Court last week let stand a lower court's decision to bar a Maryland public-school system from considering race in weighing students' transfer requests. The ruling did little, however, to clarify how the justices view the use of race-conscious policies in other areas of education, such as college admissions.
