Study Quantifies Impact of Hurricane Katrina on Displaced Students
Students who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina faced numerous hardships, but were generally pleased with their experiences at colleges where they enrolled last fall, according to a new study.
In a paper presented at last month's annual meeting of the Southern Sociological Society, the researchers wrote that students from New Orleans colleges would "bear the mark of Hurricane Katrina and its massive societal impacts for the rest of their lives."
