Study Notes How Higher Education Benefits States
Less unemployment and more volunteerism are among the benefits that accrue to states from greater spending on higher education.
That is according to a report, "The Investment Payoff: A 50-State Analysis of the Public and Private Benefits of Higher Education," released last week.
It looks at how increases in education levels, ranging from less than a high-school diploma through a graduate-level degree, correlate with six social and economic factors: personal income, employment
