Study Counts More Minority Students Earning Degrees, as of 1997
The number of minority students attending college and earning degrees has risen slightly, according to a report released last week by the American Council on Education.
However, because the most recent data are more than two years old, they may not reflect enrollment changes that followed the recent rollbacks of affirmative-action policies in California and Texas.
Minority enrollment rose by 3.7 percent, to 3,771,000, from 1996 to 1997, the latest year
