Students Who Have Attention Disorders
To the Editor:
While I applaud the attempt by The Chronicle to bring the topic of students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder to light, I feel that referring to the disorder in the simplistic terms of "bad habits" and in comments like "what many ADHD students lack...is not ability but drive" is equivalent to saying that clinically depressed people lack drive when they cannot function normally ("Paying Attention to Students Who Can't," September 26).
