Students Voted at a Higher Rate Than Other Young People, Survey Finds
College students voted at a much higher rate than their noncollege peers in the November election and supported Sen. John Kerry over President Bush by 14 percentage points, according to the first national post-election survey of student turnout.
The survey was designed by Michael J. Hanmer, an assistant professor of government at Georgetown University, and Richard G. Niemi, a professor of political science at the University of Rochester.
