Students Sue Professor and U. of Texas in Harassment Case

Eight current and former students at the University of Texas-Pan American sued the university and a criminal-justice professor in June, asserting that the institution had not adequately punished the professor after finding him guilty of sexual harassment. In fact, he was subsequently promoted.

The students want the university to pay them unspecified monetary damages for "mental anguish," arguing that officials "ignored" sexual harassment by the professor, Mark L. Dantzker. The
