Students Start Their Own Fund to Improve Financial Aid
Some students at North Carolina State University want to supplant the work of fund raisers there, at least to a small extent. The students are starting their own endowment, to provide more financial aid.
Harold B. Pettigrew, a senior political-science major who was the student-body president last year, says he got the idea after watching friends drop out because they could not afford to continue.
