Students Settle Free-Speech Lawsuit Against Miami-Dade Community College
Five students who claimed that Miami-Dade Community College's policy for distributing handouts on its campuses violated their First Amendment rights have settled their lawsuit with the institution. Under the terms of the settlement, the college will no longer review the content of literature that is handed out on the campuses or limit distribution to specific areas.
The plaintiffs, all of whom were students at Miami-Dade in 1999, filed a complaint against the college that year after
