Students Backed Senator Kerry by Wide Margin, Studies Find

College students supported Sen. John Kerry over President Bush by a much wider margin than did the total number of voters in the 18- to 29-year-old age group, according to an analysis of election data by The Chronicle and a survey of voters released last week by Declare Yourself, a nonpartisan group that encourages young people to vote.
