Student Debt in Iowa
To the Editor:
The issue of student debt is serious and deserves to be viewed from a national perspective. Likewise, in Iowa — where tuition is relatively low, yet average student debt is high — it is imperative that we carefully examine the causes and develop solutions.
Still, looking at national and state averages can obscure what goes on at a particular college or university ("Iowa Lawmakers Shine Spotlight on Lending Abuses," The Chronicle, November 9).
