Strike in Nepal Closes Universities
A nationwide education strike called by student allies of Maoist rebels in Nepal continued last week, closing all levels of instruction, from elementary schools to universities. Rebels blew up a classroom and a school bus at an empty school outside Kathmandu, the capital, to enforce the shutdown.
