Stress Disorder Found to Vary Among Disaster Survivors

Two new studies provide sharply contrasting views on the effect of disasters on mental health. One study documents widespread mental-health disorders in survivors of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, while the other finds that people who survive a plane crash have a sunnier outlook on life than do those who have flown without incident.
