Straight and Gay Students in the Locker Room

To the Editor:

We hear time and time again two comments from straight athletes: "Gays don't belong in sports" and "I don't care what they do on their own time" ("The Loneliest Athletes," November 1). Both are unsupportive. The latter is a veiled attempt to deflect the issue, because so many straight athletes don't want to deal with the subject or their own sexuality.

As far as predatory behavior is concerned -- that is something exhibited by men in general, not just gay
