Still Extinct? Experts Debate Last Year's Sighting of an Ivory-Billed Woodpecker
Skepticism is mounting about last year's much-hailed rediscovery of the ivory-billed woodpecker in Arkansas. David Sibley, author of one of the most-used bird-identification guides, announced in a recent issue of the journal Science that he questions whether a group of scientists actually saw the bird, which had been thought to be extinct.
