Stem-Cell Research: a Vexing Issue for States
Five states have provided grant money to augment research on human embryonic stem cells, in response to President Bush's policy limiting the use of federal funds for such studies. The National Institutes of Health expects to spend $38-million this year on that type of stem-cell research.
