Stealth Candidate Wins Support to Be Chancellor of U. of Illinois at Chicago, Whose Provost Is Lone Finalist, for Now, for U. of Colorado Presidency
It's all but certain that Sylvia Manning will be the new chancellor of the University of Illinois at Chicago, even though she wasn't among the finalists named by a search committee.
Faculty members familiar with the search say that Ms. Manning, the interim chancellor on the Chicago campus since last fall, was not among the five finalists that the committee picked, and had actually withdrawn from consideration.
