Statistical Problems in Studies of Access

In "New Book Accuses Education Dept. of Research Errors That Skewed Policy Making" (The Chronicle, July 9), readers learned that a growing number of prominent researchers in higher education agree that recent federal access research is marred by statistical errors and faulty inferences that misled policy makers about the true financial plight of low-income students.
