FREE SAT PREPARATION: Georgia's governor, Sonny Perdue, a Republican, has asked lawmakers to set aside $1-million so that each high-school student in the state can take three free practice tests for the SAT, and would also be able to get free online preparation for the test. The governor wants to improve the state's average SAT scores, which last year ranked 49th in the nation.
