State Universities Spend Millions to Add and Upgrade Computers, Report Says

State universities poured millions into keeping up with "the tremendous expense and brief shelf life of rapidly emerging technologies" in academic 1998-99, according to a report by the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges.
