A Plan to Improve AP Performance in Arkansas and Other News From the States
A nonprofit corporation in Arkansas announced plans this week to offer cash awards to students who score a 3 or better on the five-point scale used for Advanced Placement tests. Beginning with the 2008-9 school year, the incentives will be offered to students who attend 11 Arkansas high schools that the group, the Arkansas Advanced Initiative for Math and Science, has identified as lacking in AP participation rates.
