State Department Will Sponsor Global Higher-Education Development Summit in April
The U.S. Department of State is convening a higher-education summit next month to discuss building partnerships among American colleges, the private sector, and universities in developing countries. The Higher Education Summit for Global Development, whose goal is to further economic growth in poorer regions, is being billed as a follow-up to a 2006 university presidents' summit. But organizers say it will be more committed to producing tangible results.
