Stanford and Duke Consider Job Cuts
In yet another sign of continuing tough economic times for higher education, two of the country's wealthiest private institutions are contemplating staff cuts. Officials of both Stanford University and Duke University are seeking to lower costs in an effort to close budget deficits that are expected to worsen in coming years.
