Stanford to Give Research Grants to Junior Professors
Stanford University plans to give its assistant professors $5,000 each with only one string attached: They have to use the money to support their research.
Stanford's president, Gerhard Casper, said last month that every tenure-track junior faculty member in its undergraduate schools would receive the $5,000 grants.
