WESTWARD HO: Stanford University has been trying to snag the sociologist Lawrence D. Bobo from Harvard University for years. Finally, it got the answer it was looking for.
Mr. Bobo, 46, who was recently elected to the National Academy of Sciences, and his wife, Marcyliena Morgan, 45, will head for California at the beginning of the year.
