Stanford Provides Temporary Funds for Graduate Students' Health Insurance
Stanford University has responded to a significant increase in the cost of insuring graduate students' spouses and children with a promise to subsidize the higher rates for one year "as a stopgap measure," a university statement said.
In a letter sent to the students in June, the university had advised its graduate students to consider using public assistance to cover dependents' health-insurance fees, which, the university warned, would rise by 40 to 60 percent in the coming year.
