Stanford Names John Hennessy, an Engineer and Entrepreneur, as Its President
Stanford University said last week that its provost, John L. Hennessy, will become its next president. A computer scientist and engineer who has been a professor and administrator at Stanford since 1977, Mr. Hennessy also is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, having founded a company that produces microprocessors.
