Stanford Lures MIT Political Theorist; U. of Michigan Gets Provost and Law Professor From Texas; U. of New England Names New Chief

POLITICAL SHIFT: One of academe's top political theorists of democracy will move across the country next academic year to Stanford University, after nearly 30 years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
