Stanford Gets Big Gift From Yahoo Founder
Stanford University has received a $75-million pledge from a co-founder of Yahoo and his wife.
Two-thirds of the pledge, from Jerry Yang and Akiko Yamazaki, will go toward the construction of an Environment and Energy Building. Stanford will use an additional $5-million of the pledge to build a high-tech learning-and-knowledge center for the School of Medicine. The university has not yet determined the uses of the remaining $20-million.
