Stadium Rowdiness Plunges After Alcohol Is Banned
Call it the power of science. While beer and wine flow freely for the wealthy graduates and supporters ensconced in skyboxes at the University of Colorado at Boulder's Folsom Field, students and other fans in the cheap seats have to settle for whatever they can smuggle in.
Why? It's all about statistics. University officials temporarily banned beer sales at the stadium in the mid-1990s to see what would happen. In one year, stadium ejections fell by 50 percent, arrests by 45 percent,
