Spurned Physician Sues University of Toronto
A British psychiatrist, David Healy, is suing the University for Toronto and one of its teaching hospitals for $5,988,787 for breach of contract, breach of academic freedom, and libel.
In September 2000, Dr. Healy accepted a position as clinical director of the teaching hospital's mood-and-anxiety program at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health as well as a position as professor of psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
